Every year individuals, organisations and faith groups bring their hearts and voices to this event to stimulate an atmoshere of celebration. In this 20th year, the theme is Discovery, which is inspired by the the venue for this year's Interfaith Conference in Dundee where the pioneering Research Ship 'Discovery' resides.

The theme for last year's Scottish Interfaith Week was Community which gave us the perfect opportunity to bring Moray's faith group communities together under one roof. We booked an afternoon at Elgin Town Hall and invited local faith groups to come along to share information and talk about about their faith. The day was a great success, with 10 faith communities represented and around 70 visitors coming along to the event.
Will Masih, committee member of Moray Interfaith Group and Pastor of Elgin's Seventh Day Adventist Church, spoke to the Northern Scot who ran a feature on the event. He explained that we wanted to bring people together from all faiths to get some good conversations going. He went on to say that everyone seemed very engaged and the atmosphere was constructive.
We were also delighted to welcome Moray's Lord-Lieutenant Seymour Monro as our chief guest of honour who told Northern Scot that he hoped the good work done here would continue to be built upon.
Indeed it has. In January we returned to Elgin with a Holocaust Remembrance Day, and despite busy lives our members have continued to meet throughout the year. In the summer we met with local refugees for our "You Me and a Cup of Tea" event and in August we welcomed other Scottish regional groups into the area for the Networking Seminar organized by Interfaith Scotland. We are now focusing all our attention on this years Scottish Interfaith Week and our own event on 7th December. We hope you will join us, and if you feel inspired we'd be delighted to welcome you into our group.
